The Challenge

A city of roughly 4,000 residents runs the same systems a much larger one does — city hall, police records, utility billing, and public works — without an IT department to look after any of it. Parker’s technology had accumulated in pieces over the years, support was reactive and billed hourly, backups had never been restore-tested, and the storm exposure that comes with sitting on East Bay was not accounted for anywhere in a recovery plan.

What We Did

Flux Labs took over city IT under a single flat monthly agreement. We inventoried and documented every system, standardized and centrally managed endpoints across departments, moved shared files and email into a managed cloud tenant with multi-factor authentication enforced, put encrypted off-site backups with scheduled restore testing behind police and utility-billing records, and wrote a hurricane continuity plan covering recovery order and phone failover.

“We’re a small city with a small budget and no IT staff of our own. Flux Labs gave us one predictable number every month and took the whole problem off our desk.”
— Kim Dalton, Accounting, City of Parker
